More Baby Photos for Cash

Photos of her newborn, Anja Louise, won't fetch $14 million (as did Brangelina's twins), but Victoria's Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio is trying to cut a deal with the celeb weeklies for photos of her little one.

Ambrosio and boyfriend Jamie Mazur welcomed their daughter on Sunday in Brazil, and her camp was already shopping the baby pictures yesterday. As is the custom these days, Ambrosio will donate some proceeds to the Multiple Sclerosis Children's Fund.

61-year-old Woman Gives Birth In Japan

A 61-year-old Japanese woman gave birth to her own grandchild, using an egg donated by her daughter, a clinic said Thursday.

Surrogate births are extremely rare in Japan and banned by industry groups, but they are not illegal. The Suwa Maternity Clinic in Nagano, northwest of Tokyo, refused to provide information such as the date of the birth or gender of the baby. News reports said the baby was born last year.

The clinic said it performed the procedure because the woman's daughter has no uterus, but didn't give details on why she had that condition. The surrogate mother used a fertilized egg donated by her daughter.

"Both surrogate mother and baby were fine," said Chihiro Netsu, a spokeswoman for the clinic.

Babies, babies everywhere!

• Ricky Martin is a father to twin boys born via a surrogate, his rep confirms to People magazine. "In recent weeks, Ricky Martin became a proud father by the birth of twin sons," his rep says. "The children, delivered via gestational surrogacy, are healthy and already under Ricky's full-time care," the rep said in a statement. "Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children." The boys' names and the location of their birth have not been released.

• It's another girl for Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana, his rep tells People magazine. "Matt and Lucy Damon had a baby girl named Gia Zavala on Wednesday, Aug. 20th. Everyone's doing great," says Damon's rep, Jennifer Allen. "She is a healthy baby girl." The newest addition is the third little girl in the Damon household, joining big sisters Isabella, 2, and Alexia, 10. Damon recently joked about living with so many females, telling USA Today from his home in Miami, "I'm so outnumbered down here, it's crazy."

• Jennifer Garner has finally acknowledged her pregnancy. At an event celebrating the 10th anniversary of Baby Einstein products in L.A. Wednesday, a USA Today reporter asked the actress, 36, about her upcoming projects. Garner then pointed to her baby bump and said with a smile, “This.” She wouldn’t reveal her due date, USA Today reports. "We're so excited, obviously," she told Access Hollywood. Garner and husband Ben Affleck — parents of daughter Violet, 2 — recently snapped up a $16 million house in the L.A.'s Brentwood neighborhood as they prep for their new baby.

Egyptian Woman Gives Birth To Septuplets

An Egyptian woman gave birth to septuplets early Saturday in the coastal city of Alexandria, a hospital director said.

Ghazala Khamis, 27, was in good condition at the hospital after having a blood transfusion during her Caesarean section due to bleeding, said Emad Darwish, director of the El-Shatbi Hospital where she gave birth.

The newborns, four boys and three girls, weigh between 3.2 pounds and 6.17 pounds and are in stable condition, Darwish said. They have been placed in incubators in four different hospitals that have special premature baby units, he said.

"This is a very rare pregnancy _ something I have never witnessed over my past 33 years in this profession," Darwish said.

Darwish decided to carry out the Caesarean section at the end of Khamis' eighth month of pregnancy due to the pressure on her kidneys.

Khamis, the wife of a farmer in the northern Egyptian province of Beheira, already has three daughters.

Mom gives birth on front lawn by herself

Alone and in labor, Jessica Higgins found the first place she could to give birth - her front lawn.

The 36-year-old was driving home from the mall Tuesday when little Mary Claire gave her the shock of a lifetime by deciding to arrive six weeks early.

Higgins _ with her 2-year-old son sleeping in the back seat _ called 911 as she arrived at her Fullerton home, but she had already pushed her daughter out when police arrived.

"She was just standing in the driveway rocking the newborn, who was still attached to the placenta," Officer Manny Ramos said Wednesday.

Higgins' husband, Jeff, arrived in time to cut the baby's umbilical cord under the front-yard ficus tree.

The proud mother, who was recovering at a hospital Wednesday, said "everything happened so fast." She said she had her son's portrait taken at the mall earlier in the day and was on hold with the doctor's office when the baby started pushing.

Mary Claire was born at 5 pounds, 11 ounces and was doing fine at St. Jude Medical Center, Higgins said.

Minn. Baby Born 8/8/08 At 8:08; 8 Pounds, 8 Ounces

Hailey Jo Hauer was born on the eighth day of the eighth month in 2008 at 8:08 a.m. So it wouldn't make sense for her to weigh anything other than 8 pounds, 8 ounces.

Lindsey Hauer thought staff at Lake Region Hospital in Minnesota were joking when they told her the time of her daughter's birth. Then she got a call from the birthing suite noting Hailey's weight.

Nurse Jenny Harstad joked that she tried to shrink the baby to 18 inches from her actual 19.5 inches.

Several hospital staff members pledged to buy lottery tickets.

Jamie Lynn & Maddie Home in Mississippi

Proud new mom Jamie Lynn Spears and her newborn daughter Maddie Briann Aldridge, returned home at 1:45 am Saturday morning. And by "home," OK! magazine reveals that this means the Liberty, Mississippi, house the Zoey 101 star purchased last month to start her new life with fiancé Casey Aldridge and their baby.

It had been incorrectly reported by US Weekly and several other media outlets that baby Maddie had been taken back to Serenity, the Kentwood, Louisiana, estate owned by Jamie Lynn's big sis Britney Spears. After all this is the house where Jamie Lynn grew up and where her mother Lynne Spears still resides.

However, the tabloid also reports that many reporters and photographers fell victim to a well-choreograped ruse, which had Casey and Lynne drive back to Serenity with a Jamie Lynn look-alike in the back of the car, thus allowing mom and daughter to make their exit in private, driven separately by private security guards and escorted by state troopers back to their home in Liberty.

Woman unaware of pregnancy gives birth at party

Ally Ashwell of Newcastle, England, was bar-hopping — in a bumblebee costume — when she began to feel sick. She returned to her hotel room to find she was in labor, and the contractions came so fast she was forced to deliver in the hotel.

Ashwell’s baby, Owen, was born prematurely at 26 weeks, but doctors at the Lancashire hospital where he is being cared for are optimistic about his future. "It is very unusual for a baby to be born in this situation," a spokesman for Blackpool Victoria Hospital told BBC News. "I think Owen surprised us all by the progress he has made."

Baby born after rare ovarian pregnancy

A woman in a northern Australian city gave birth to a healthy baby girl after a rare full-term ectopic pregnancy, a hospital official said Friday.

Meera Thangarajah, 34, had no symptoms or complications during her pregnancy, so doctors performing a routine Caesarean section Thursday were shocked to find that the baby had developed in the ovary rather than the uterus.
