Signs and Symptoms of Pregnancy

My first for sure sign that I was pregnant was missing my period. Once I didn't get it I was just hoping that I was finally pregnant. Another sure sign that came along was nausea. What signs and symptoms did you experience in your early stage of pregnancy? Read the article below about more common symtoms of early pregnancy. ______________________________________________________ The signs and symptoms of early pregnancy which are not noticed until you find out you have missed your period are a common health question. Despite the order of pregnancy, the signs of them are all the same. However, a woman may experience more breast pain or nausea during one pregnancy, while she might not have them during another. Breasts and/ or nipples swollen, tender or sore are often the first physical sign of pregnancy. The reason behind it is the increased production of the hormones estrogen and progesterone. The woman's body is undergoing changes to get ready for breastfeeding. Fatigue or unusual tiredness -- during early pregnancy a woman's body is working over time to keep up with the changes. Increase in hormonal production, escalation in heart rate due to increase of blood flow to bring nutrients to the fetus are other signs to be watched for. Progesterone is the cause of fatigue and sleepiness. Extremes of emotions experienced during pregnancy are also other factors of fatigue. Missing periods -- the most common reason for missing a period is pregnancy. A pregnancy test and a pelvic exam can determine a woman's pregnancy. Not all absence of menstruation or amenorrhea means pregnancy, so consult your doctor. Cramps and/ or light bleeding -- the most common reason for that is implantation. The bleeding occurs when the fertilized egg implants itself in the uterine lining, about 10 to 14 days after conception. The implantation bleeding, the only sign that implantation has occurred, is very light. It could look like spots on the panties. Cramping, similar to menstrual cramps, occur early during pregnancy and when the uterus begins to expand for the next 40 weeks to make room for the embryo to develop into a fetus. Morning sickness -- nausea during pregnancy can occur with or without vomiting. While it is most common during the fourth and eighth week of pregnancy, many women experience the symptoms after the two weeks of the conception. Morning sickness can occur at anytime during the day or night. The most common reason for the symptom is rapid raise in estrogen, produced by the fetus and placenta. Another reason for the nausea is odor due to the heightened sense of smell in pregnant women. Running to the bathroom -- during the first and third trimesters of pregnancy, the growing uterus causes frequent urination. A pregnant woman may feel she needs to move into the bathroom. Source

My first sign that I was pregnant was extreme hunger. I mean waking up at 4 am to raid the kitchen because I was starving and this was about a week before my period was due. Then on the day my period was due I took a pregnancy test and before 30 seconds were up it was positive.
