This is great news to hear. Australia has begun a $15 million, Federal Government funded, 24-hour pregnancy help line. It is designed to provide advice to women who are pregnant and in need of counsellors to talk to. This is especially great for women who feel that they are facing their pregnancy alone.

But a spokesman for Centacare, Frank Quinlan, says he cannot understand the fuss as the agency is only one of many providing advice.
"It surprises me when one Church agency plays such a small role in the development of a service that it creates such a controversy really," he said.
"Church agencies have been providing support to pregnant women and their families and to women who have had terminations and their families for decades or longer and will continue to do so."
Mr Quinlan says the information given by the help line will be objective.
"The options that people have when they're facing this question involve termination, they involve adopting out the child, they may involve maintaining the pregnancy and keeping the pregnancy with some additional support," he said.
"They're all options that would potentially be explored as part of the service."
Mr Quinlan says the help line will not refer women for terminations.
